- Page 2 of summary. Note that the aluminium pipes
were later discovered to be not from a boat.
- Mission Aviation Fellowship, Antananarivo, Madagascar
- Madagascar west coast from Cap Ste Marie
north to Mahajunga (27/July 98)
- Mahajunga north to Cap d'Ambre (21/7/98)
- Seychelle islands Farquhar to Providence
(22/7/98) this mission was due to search Seychelle islands around Astove
and Aldabra islands but was aborted due to bad weather.
None of the searches has seen Transgression, or any liferaft, or any
distress signal. However, radio contacts during the searches have established
that some yachts in the area are unaware of the plight of Transgression,
so greater efforts at publicity must be made, through the news media and
through yachting and aero clubs.
The Madagascar coastline is reported to be sufficiently busy that Transgression
could not put ashore without finding people to assist.
